With the theme "Philippine Population: Past, Present and Prospects", the 2012 Population Association (PPA) Annual Scientific Conference will be held at Taal Vista Hotel Tagaytay on 2 - 3 February 2012. Guest speaker Dr. John Casterline, Professor of Sociology and Director of Initiative in Population Research at the Ohio State University will speak and present on "Contemporary Fertility Decline: Myths and Realities". The latest issues of the Philippine Population Review will also be launched in the conference.
Concurrent sessions will feature oral and poster presentations on the following topics:

- Understanding Filipino Diaspora
- Sexuality and Reproductive Health Issues
- Youth and Aging Issues
- Fertility and Poverty: Perspectives from the PCPD Fellows

A pre-conference lecture will be held on 31 January 2012 in collaboration with the University of the Philippines Population Institute and Demographic Research and Development Foundation (UPPI-DRDF). Lecture and presentation on Statistical Analysis of Event Histories: Principles and Procedures will be given by Dr. John Casterline.
